What is the CenterStage Challenge?

DSC_0435.JPG

Objectives

In a traditional FTC match, there are two alliances with two teams on each alliance (total of four robots on the field). The object of the game is to attain a higher score than the opposing alliance by positioning the Foundation in the Building Site, delivering and building a tower of Skystones, navigating under the Skybridge, and Capping the tower. Many of the points scored in this game tend to be in the autonomous period.

What We Can Do

Autonomous

Period

In the Autonomous Period, we can grab a stone, place it on the foundation, and move the foundation into the build zone. We can also park under the Skybridge closest to the Neutral bridge. We can do this on either Alliance but must be centered in between the bridge and the depot, closest to the line of stones.

Driver Controlled Period

In the Driver Controlled Period, we can easily maneuver the robot around the field with our mecanum wheels. Our robot can also fit under the lower truss so it's fast to cycle. We mainly focus on creating mosaic ( 3 same color or 3 different color ) pixels.

End

Game

In the Endgame, we can move throw a paper airplane over the stress design. We can also hang with a tape measure seen above. This combined with the paper airplane launcher helped us win the Design Award. On average we score 40 points, best case scenario we would score 50.
